Hi! My name is Kathy Martin. I am a Children's Minister by profession, and wear many other hats along the way, like most of the women I know. Today is my first post. Last week, I began a new health program for children and parents--it coincides with a musical we are doing in the spring, called "The Amazing Grace Race". A friend mentioned it would be great to blog about our progress, so here goes. Last week we began a series of warm-up/walking/jogging intervals. 90 seconds of walking, 30 seconds of jogging. I am about 50 pounds overweight, and see this a new beginning for myself in several ways: 1) be a healthy role model for kids; 2) give God a healthy place to dwell in me; 3) encourage others to make healthier choices. So, here we go, in HIS steps, but in MY shoes! Last week for our first workout, we had 23 participants, and about 43 for our second meeting. Tonight, we increase our interval level--90 seconds of walking and 60 seconds of jogging. I'm not a runner! So far, I've kept up. Stay posted, more to come...Love and hugs, Kathy
